Course Title: GCSE Separate Science

Examination Board: AQA

Entry Requirements: SATs Level 6 Science or above

Contact: Mrs. J. Louhi

Course Aims:

To develop a student’s interest in and enthusiasm for science. To develop a critical approach to scientific evidence and methods. To acquire scientific skills, knowledge and understanding of how science works and its essential role in society.

Course Description:

This course offers the three science disciplines to be taught as three discrete courses. It will be delivered by a specialist at all times. Students will study how   science works in the context of biology, chemistry and physics. This option covers all the subject matter    contained in the ‘Core’ Science Programme of Study plus that in the Additional Science Specification along with the extra topics which make up the Separate Science Award for each area. Three separate grades will be awarded at the end of this course.

How will I learn:

  • Experiments
  • Discussion
  • Research
  • Written tasks
