Venerable Bede Uniform Information

The Venerable Bede Church of England Secondary School has a uniform policy, which has the full support of the Governing Body. Details of the uniform are shown below.

We believe that uniform plays an important role in the school ethos. Students need to be suitably dressed for the working day. A smart appearance helps to maintain high esteem in the community. Students must wear a blazer at all times and will need a sensible coat for inclement weather.

No logos are to be displayed on items of clothing. Tracksuit tops, hoodies and denim jackets are not allowed. Trainers, trainer socks and boots are not allowed.

Uniform

Black school blazer with school badge *
A House coloured Braid will be issued, Blue for Aiden, Yellow for Cuthert, Red for Hild, Green for Oswald
Black tailored trousers (Boys)
Black 'A' line skirt (no more than 5cm above or below the knee) or black tailored trousers (girls)
Plain white collared shirt with long or short sleeves (no polo shirts)
School tie * (Ties other than school ties are not to be worn)
Purple 'V' neck school jumper with school badge *, or Plain Black or Gray Jumper or Cardigan.
Sensible black shoes with plain black socks (Boys)
Sensible black shoes with plain white socks or plain black opaque tights (Girls)
Outdoor coats should, preferably be black, blue or navy (tracksuit tops and denim jackets are not acceptable)

PE and Games Kit

School rugby top *
Purple school polo shirt with badge *
Plain black knee length socks
Training shoes (no boots)
Black football shorts - boys and girls (no logos)
Black games shorts (Boys)
Black games shorts or black kilt style games skirt (Girls)
Swimming trunks (Boys)
Swimsuit (no bikinis) (Girls)
School tracksuit (optional) *
Slipper socks or dance shoes.

Please Note:

No jewellery other than a watch may be worn. Make-up and nail varnish is not allowed. Hair accessories for the girls (e.g. headbands, slides, bobbles etc) must be black. Boys' hair may not be worn shorter than a No 2 haircut.
